Santa run – update

 Two bits of news here.

Firstly, we’ve been allocated our own run: Friday 22nd December for the Boley Park / Roman Way route. Our very esteemed VC has offered to be the Driver on the night – so thank you very much Roger. More details will follow in due course, but if you can help out it will be much appreciated. Some of you were kind enough to put your names down earlier this year – I will be taking any more names at the Xmas meeting next week, so please check your diaries and sign up if possible.

Secondly, we’ve had a message from Viv Wyss, Secretary of Lichfield Tangles and Amy Baden, Chair of Lichfield Ladies Circle. Ladies Circle and Tangles have been allocated Fradley, which is a massive route, on Sunday 3rd December. They would really appreciate any support from our Club and Tangent  if anyone can help between 3-6pm or 6-9pm. This is next weekend – detailed timings to be confirmed.

The afternoon slot is particularly in need at the moment, as many people have things on during the day, but any help on either slot is welcome as they may be able to juggle people around. Please let Viv know as soon as possible if you can help, on lichfieldtangles@gmail.com

Many thanks

Chairman Colin “Call me Santa” John

Sad news

This from Pete Chapman :

Its that time of year: just heard that ex 1200 member Nigel Mason died in April: he was living in Kenilworth and was Chairman 1983-4.

Also past 1200 members will be sad to hear Graham Neale of Poole RT died last month.

Poppy Appeal

RH would like to thank the Club for the support given to the Poppy Appeal at Tesco. The total raised at our two-day stall has reached £2446, without the donations taken electronically. We hope to have the results of this soon.

Should anyone be overcome by fashionable nostalgia when comparing the amazing, exciting, planet-saving, awesomely underwhelming new Poppy with the functional resilience of the old one, I presently have several thousand old ones that will shortly need to be returned (presumably for destruction rather than re-stocking .)

Let me know if you are needy – in the Poppy sense.

Roger

Winter BBQ – final details

The great minds of the Dimley Duo, having awoken from their early autumn slumber, have now released details of the long awaited Winter BBQ on Wed 22nd November at the Good Doctor’s house in Alrewas. Final arrangements here – and prepare yourself for Bad Santa.

Note (as in a £10 note) that payment will be taken on the night, and to bring such ales or wines as you are pleased to consume.

Please note the plea to confirm your attendance with the Dim or Hart of Dimley Digestibles, as soon as possible, or even quicker than that.
